The End

I've been planning for some time now to resurrect my home page on a more modern, spam-resistant platform, however after experimenting with connecting the domain name to Google Sites and then not knowing how to reverse the procedure, I seem to have inadvertently forced the transition upon myself all of a sudden.

Rather than wasting time trying to revert the situation so I can keep the site going until its replacement is ready, I decided it would be more dignified to just set it free now, so it can frolic on the interwebs along with the old The Passenger site for as long as Blogger remains in existence, while I scramble to assemble a basic home page before the next Universal Human release.  Hence, the new site is quite sparse as of now, although perhaps that's for the best, since it cuts down on maintenance.

In the meantime, you can follow my exploits on Twitter (which has practically supplanted the blog here anyway), YouTube, and the now stupendously long Blender Artists thread.  Or you can stay here and peruse 17 years of enthralling blog updates...

Another New Button

I've finally been coaxed against my better judgement onto Twitter, where I'll be attempting to make more incremental updates (along with the ones I've been making here).  Hence, I've added a new button, up there on the right.  I'm not sure exactly what it does, but it's blue and Twittery-looking, and that's good enough for me.

I'll continue to reserve this blog for more significant updates (such as new buttons).

Website Mk IV

Now Powered by Blogger, or so the footer says.  It's not quite as pretty as it was when it was powered by Wordpress, but it is faster, free-er, Google-er, and surrounded by a virtually impenetrable hacker-deflecting fortress (this should not be taken as an invitation to try hacking it, by the way).

Hackers Be Gone!

Disinfecting and rebuilding my site over and over is getting a mite wearisome, so I'm terminating my Wordpress site and migrating everything over to Blogger.  In fact it's already there - all that's left to do is to transfer the domain, which will be happening shortly.  When it does, any feeds will most likely cease and need to be re-subscribed to.

Bottersnikes and Gumbles

A teaser has been released for an animated TV show being developed at Mighty Nice in Sydney, for which I contributed revamped character designs based on the original book illustrations, as well as some matte paintings.

Website Mk III

Much as I liked my old site, hackers with pharmaceuticals to sell seemed to like it as well, so it had to go. Since I was rebuilding everything (for the third time I might add) I thought I might as well take advantage of the situation and do some redecorating - the upshot of which is that the site works a little bit better now as well. Take that pharma-hackers!

Now I just have to deal with this other 'entity' that's trying to claim ownership of The Passenger and have it blocked from YouTube...

Where Am I?

Still here, still doing stuff. Just thought you'd like to know... (taps desk and gazes out window in a pensive manner)...

This fellow has made an interesting film: Link Something strangely familiar about it though...

1st Post Of The Year!

And it's only May! I better slow down before the whole internet clogs up with my blog.

Just thought I'd better point out that I do in fact still exist, and have been busy on another external project which has kept my own projects dormant long enough for the Desktop Cleanup Wizard to pop up and try to persuade me to put my shortcuts in the bin. Little does Mr Cleanup know, I've been opening the files from their original locations and chipping away at them from there. Take that, Wizard of Desktop Cleanliness!

So what this means is that while progress on the DVD is now moving even slower, I'll actually be able to afford to put it into production... just in time for holocube players to come out! Hooray for progress!

Surprise!

Welcome to the murky greenish grey of WEBSITE MK II. The old one wasn't much fun to maintain and I needed a front end that would allow for expansion into other less "Passengery" things. Consequently it's got more buttony thingamabobs, searchy whatchamacallits, RSS dooverlackies and other high tech ...stuff.

Don't be alarmed though, The Passenger is still high priority and the original pages are still mostly intact and viewable by clicking on the image above. They took me ages to do (believe it or not) and I'm not about to go dragging all my good work into the recycle bin. Besides, I don't know how to do those spooky glowy buttons and things in here.

The site is somewhat empty (again) for now, so consider this a replacement for what was previously known as "Newsy Bloggy Thing" until I've come up with some material to populate its pages.

Email Problems

I discovered today that my email address had been malfunctioning, causing mail to bounce back to the sender. It seems to have been fixed now, so please repost any messages that were sent since the start of the year. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Overhaul

Now that I'm starting to get a handle on this fiddly business of web designing, I've noticed what a diabolical mess I've made of setting up the directory structure. So, I've pulled it all apart and put it back together again.

In the process I've made all the pages a bit more uniform and finished looking, and now you can navigate to any page from any other page (except the front page) - convenient! It's almost enough to create the illustion that there's actually a lot of stuff in here.

Let me know if anything's broken.

The Tomb

It's not Passenger related, but here's a glimpse of what I was up to a month or two ago. It's a "behind the scenes" look at a feature film pitch by Jon Dixon. I did the opening title and establishing shot for the teaser as well as some other minor effects shots.

I've just finished another job, so with any luck I'll manage to get some Passenger stuff up before the next wave hits.
