  2. Thanks Cesar! The film on the DVD is the same as the YouTube one, just better resolution and quality, with some extras.

I think not having anyone else to support is one of the reasons I was able to spend all that time on the computer…

  3. Hello Chris,
I really enjoyed the quality of your work as well. Do you have any other DVDs for sale? Also, how did you market yourself? I noticed you have a very impressive number of YouTube views (1.9 million. Wow.) I am an aspiring filmmaker and would greatly appreciate your insights. Thank you! =)

  4. Thanks Luis,

I only have the one DVD for now. Once I had made a website and entered the film into its first festival the marketing virtually took care of itself (which makes it sound like a lot less work than it actually was). It was a bit of an experiment really, to see if the film could find its own legs based on its own merit.

  5. Hi Chris,
I found your film on YouTube today, and have just been soaking in everything I can from your "making of" section. This is an amazing piece of work! You are amazing! Did it work? You made the short with the intention of using it to get a good job...do you have one? I am 22 years old, and have been playing around with animation since I was 15. I have been looking for animation jobs for several years...but with so little experience I have only been able to find small local projects to help with, and all of them within the last six months or so.
Do you have any advice for me? I have started so many personal projects that have never been completed. I just want to be part of something big.

  6. Hi Spencer,

I've been offered some good job opportunities, so in that sense it worked. By the time I'd finished though, I was more inclined to keep developing my own projects and freelancing.

My advice would be to find some time to pour all your efforts into at least one of your projects, so you can start building a showcase that represents the best that you're capable of. Experience counts for very little if the quality's not there. There's really nothing else for it but to just put the hours in, push yourself as far as you can go, and be very patient. Keep on with those small local projects though, you never know where they might lead. :)

  7. Hi Chris,
I came across your short animated movie "The Passenger" on youtube today while searching for a animation to use in a college project. I am studying a Music Technology and Production degree in Ireland and I have chosen the area of Sound Design for animation and gaming as a future career. After many months of searching the web I found "The Passenger" to be of an exceptional style of imagery and colour and one I would love to use. I've tried to contact you through e-mail via the address on this website but I'm having some issues with delivery. Do you think it would be possible to contact you regarding the possibility of using your fantastic short animation to further my education in sound design.
    Kind Regards,

    Michael Murphy.

  8. Hi Chris,
I always show my animation classes your film to show how many things you had to do as well as the process. The sped up making of sections and the music composing always blows them away.
    Thanks,
    Jim
